| Monument Valley, located in the American Midwest, is a geological formation approximately 270 million years old. It continues to weather and erode, and it is said that its current form will eventually disappear. Monument Valley gained prominence after being used in films. It is famously featured in Westerns such as "Stagecoach" and "The Searchers." John Ford's favorite filming location, and his particular favorite spot, known as John Ford Point, offers a panoramic view of Monument Valley. It has also been used as a futuristic landscape in films such as "2001: A Space Odyssey." |
